My experience with Pro Appliance Installation:
Dathan was the first contact I had when I called Pro Appliance. Super nice guy who really took his time to ensure I had everything I needed, was clear with the details, and put everything in writing via email. I had a detailed list of expected work to be done and an invoice spelling out all charges. I was able to review it with him as well to make sure I had the services I needed. Later in the process, Mary also helped me get connected to the right people and places. Such a great company to work with. The value for the cost was excellent.
Victor, Kevin, and Aaron.
These were the three professionals who installed our new built-in refrigerator. I was so impressed with the relaxed and comfortable professionalism of a crew that have worked so well together for such a long time. The crew reported on time, were respectful and efficient. They took care to ensure my house was treated with respect. They removed the old refrigerator (and cleaned up after it leaked water all over the floor.) Even though they were a relaxed team, they were extremely effective in doing their jobs. They worked well together as a team. They were in and out of here in less than an hour, give or take a few minutes. I am so pleased and would strongly recommend them to anyone.
I look forward to working with this company in the future as we continue to upgrade and remodel our home.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

You would think that the objective of a small business is to make money (or at least stay in business). With that attitude, I'm surprised that they are still in business under Dathan's leadership.
Long story -
I bought an induction cooktop at Airport Appliance (AA). Their in-house installers couldn't install it for some reason. I was referred to this third-party vendor. My sales associate (SA) had them contact me and I was on the phone explaining the situation with Dathan. I would say his customer service is great when he is trying to sell you his services. He was knowledgeable. Brought up how his installation prices were a little cheaper than AA. He even told me they used to be the in-house installers, but AA wanted them to wake up at like 4am to pick up the product at their warehouse and then go install it. Since they were all family men, they decided just to be the go-to if AA couldn't do it.
We talked on the phone initially on Aug 18th (see pics for call log and minutes). We went over what was going on and there was some confusion with what was the actual problem. He said he would contact my SA to see what the issue was. Dathan also sent me out two initial quotes to look over and e-sign. My SA got back to me and said that they talked and wanted pictures of the wall behind my oven. I sent them and he said I would need a junction box installed and Dathan's company could do it, but it was going to be expensive (please see pic).
After looking for other vendors, we decided to go with Proappliance because they were already recommended. I called back Dathan on Sept 11 to make sure we were on the same page before I signed the quote. He asked me to refresh his memory about what needed to be done. I told him that I knew it would probably be expensive, but I just wanted it installed no matter what the price. I signed the more expensive of the two quotes expecting it to be more in the end. The quote had included electrical work. I didn't want an on-site review because we already knew what needed to be done.
Our in-home installation day comes and the two workers arrive. My husband was there to greet them. I was working so this is all hearsay from him. The installers said that we needed an electrician to come by in order for them to completely install the unit. My husband called me and I was so confused. I had specifically told Dathan what the issue was. At no point did he tell me that we needed to have an electrician come out to do that part before they could install. The installers said that they could still do it, but the electrician would have to finish the work and there was no guarantee that he would undo any of the work that they would have done. In that case, I declined the installation.
My husband said that the interaction was very cordial. One of them even asked my husband if he could take a picture of my Beware of Dog sign. They told us that there was a 75 dollar fee for the on-site consultation, but my husband said that he wouldn't pay that until we got things squared away. There must have been some kind of miscommunication because we were told that they could complete the electrical work and installation.
I get a call and voicemail from Dathan. A little bit later he emails me a bill for $95 dollars ($20 more). My husband wanted to talk to him. When he called him, he could already tell that Dathan was on the defensive. We would consider him confrontational and basically tried to blame it on me (the wife). He stated that he remembered that he told me we needed a circuit breaker, but that ridiculous because we wanted a one-stop shop and would never had hired him if he couldn't complete the whole job.
They went back and forth for a while, and sometime during the conversation he asked my husband to recall what happened that day again, and my husband ask him how he was able to recall a conversation that happened a month ago, but not one that happened today? Things just didn't add up.
I feel like he got so fixated on getting paid. I just spent 3k on a cooktop so 95 dollars is not important to us. It's mainly the principle behind it. I would think that you would want to have the customer satisfied so they keep coming back to you and referring friends for your services. In the long run, he got his 95 dollars, but lost out on at least 4x that much on the installation and thousands more on possible referrals.
To me, the best case scenario would have a been a simple phone call to say there was a misunderstanding, and we apologize that we couldn't install your cooktop, but we have a list of trusted electricians that can help you, and afterwards we can come back and finish the installation. A portion of the 75/95 dollar fee could be used towards the installation in order to give the customer an incentive to return. Obviously he doesn't think that way and now we will never be using his services again. I will also be telling my SA at Airport about my experience with him.Helpful 6Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

Hang,
Thank you for this review as it provides the opportunity to educate potential customers of the value of a Pre-Install Site Assessment.
We always strive to provide value during each and every site visit. Obviously, the preferred outcome of an installation appointment is to successfully complete an appliance installation. That is what our clients WANT- that is want we WANT. And…if your appliance is compatible with your home, that is the service we provide. However, if your appliance is incompatible with your home, what you NEED is information. You need the information necessary to either modify your home to accommodate the appliance, or the details needed to work with your salesperson to select a site compatible model.
When our installers came to perform your cooktop installation, they confirmed that you would need a new 40-amp dedicated circuit to convert your existing all gas range to your new 220v induction range. However, we are unclear why this was a surprise. This is why the retail store’s “in-house installers” could not complete the installation. We explained this during our first phone call. There was no confusion on our end regarding what this project would entail. This is not a unique situation; virtually every gas-to-induction cooktop conversion requires a new dedicated circuit. We discuss this extensively in detail with every customer that contacts us regarding this scenario. We discussed this together with you multiple times and your salesperson also informed you, at least twice in writing, that we would need to inspect your site (to provide pricing and be able to complete the installation).
Dedicated circuits are not something that can be quoted sight unseen. A site assessment is required to determine the existing service panel capacity, breaker type, length of wire required, and how the new circuit will be routed from the service panel to the installation location. This is why the Installation Quote we provided included an Electrical Modification line item that was “to be quoted on site.” This is also why the Installation Quote included pricing for an optional Pre-Install Site Assessment. And, knowing that site assessment was particularly important for your project, we provide a separate Pre-Install Site Assessment Quote specifically for this service.
Despite our repeated attempts to inform you otherwise, you insisted to only need to have a junction box connected to an existing circuit. If that was correct, we would have completed your cooktop installation. However, that was not correct. It is unfortunate that you were erroneously advised by others and elected to believe that false information.
The day of our site visit we provided you with the exact service that you NEEDED at that time. We provided you with the information necessary to be able to complete your project and we charged you the exact cost quoted for this service. We pride ourselves in the fact that we provide accurate information/advice, and are always very transparent with our pricing, with itemized quotes and any potential fees clearly detailed. We provided you with a valuable service, and we appropriately charged the previously agreed upon amount for our time to do so.
We hope that you utilized the electrician that we recommended since he is a good guy and relatively affordable.
Remodeling projects – even minor ones – can be stressful. We hope that you were able to get your cooktop installed to your satisfaction. And, again, thank you for the opportunity to educate potential clients about the value of Pre-Install Site Assessments. - Ben O.San Jose, CA24252Jun 29, 2024
I recently purchased a Thermador range, fridge, hood, microwave, and dishwasher and needed an installer. My real estate agent recommended Pro Appliance Installation. She said they were friendly, professional, and did quality work.
Kevin and his team were great. Everything was installed seamlessly and I love my new kitchen. Thank you!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Vishal T.San Francisco, CA02Apr 18, 2024
Inflexible and unprofessional. Installation team was unprofessional and needed a lot of handholding and calming down of tempers while on the job site. CEO/Owner was very quick to dismiss my concerns and not open to listening to customer feedback.

Vishal,
We had been trying to reach you for several months, so we were glad to be able to speak with you. My associate and I both listened to your concerns. You mentioned difficulties you had with your remodeling project and your frustrating experiences dealing with the appliance retail store you were working with. The one installation related item that you mentioned was that you did not like the elevation of the hood, so we then offered to assist you by returning to alter the hood height.
Thank you for paying your invoice and please let us know if you change your mind regarding the hood adjustment.
We understand dealing with remodeling can be stressful and that various aspects of your project unfortunately did not exactly go smoothly for you, but we hope that you are now enjoying your beautiful new kitchen appliances! - AH C.Pomona, CA042Sep 12, 2023

AH,
We offer competitive pricing and, as a small family business, always take pride in our work. Are you sure that you are reviewing the correct company?
We do not believe that we have ever spoken or communicated before, but if you are an actual customer, please feel free to contact us directly.
Note: This review, and three others, all came within days of us declining to participate in a project due to numerous red flags.
We do not understand why Yelp allows users the ability to “review bomb” companies.
We welcome the opportunity to discuss this further with potential customers. - Kevin ..San Francisco, CA024Oct 3, 2023Updated review
There are many customers reporting similar bad experiences from the owner. The owner never in one incident apologize to the customer, instead he loves to argue, loves to blame, and loves to think that it is everyone else's problem. The owners personality and ignorance is the core to this deteriorating company.
Apparently if the project is simple, I don't doubt this company can finish the job. But when project gets complicated and difficult, they will not resolve any problem, and instead blame on the client. This is well shown on Yelp and Google reviews, proven by the owner himself and his comments with other customers.
America is a nation founded and built by immigrants, being a veteran doesn't give you the privilege to treat customers poorly, you are in the service industry and your job your business is to perform a service and make customers happy. Instead you love to agitate and provoke conflict, now I understand why, I feel sorry for you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

Xiao (Kevin) Bai,
We declined your project.
Pro Appliance Installation sent a short, professional email declining your project. That is it.
We continue to be amazed that simply having your project declined has affected you so greatly that you are now stalking and harassing us on social media (Yelp, Google, & Facebook). You are being completely untruthful and have obviously created fake accounts, and/or have had others post fake reviews.
The 4 fake Yelp reviews were all received within hours on the same day as your 1st review (and the 8 – and counting - on Google keep trickling in). This is an obvious and blatant attack. It is obvious to us. And it is also obvious to our customers/potential customers.
We are also amazed that Yelp is allowing this. “Review bombs” go against their business model that purports to be based off “organic” reviews.
Pro Appliance Installation is a veteran owned, small family business. It is baffling to us that a large foreign-owned logistics company would so obsessively attempt to us harm by tarnishing our reputation.
Not because we gave bad service. Not that we charge high prices. Not that we provide fake information. Not that we tricked you and kept adding more money. Not that we promised the site inspection was free. Not that we don’t know how to install appliances. Not because we don’t answer the phone or respond to emails. Not that we try to squeeze every penny from your wallet. Not that we acted unprofessionally in any way. Not any of these false accusations. No, just because…
We. Declined. Your. Project.Sep 23, 2023Previous reviewNot surprised! looks like I'm not the only one!
There are many people experiencing extremely unpleasant experience with your company! Your bad attitude and money first mentality is habitual and constant. Your unprofessional and chaotic management is unchanged even after multiple complaints. All you do is blame the customers, blame your employees, and blame everything else!Sep 13, 2023Previous reviewYou asked about who's the home owner I said I am, you choose to not believe, the ownership like you did your research is under a holding company and I am the the legal representative for that company. I write all the checks to my contractors and 3rd party suppliers. This only showed you have zero knowledge zero experience in simple corporate and real estate structure. Your unilateral narrow minded thinking limited your availability to conduct business.
And we had 1 phone call, where I called you to explain the scope of work, told you to remove installation of the microwave and only the refrigerator and freezer unit. You offered me installation of the whole kitchen appliances and laundry unit, I specifically said I have a contractor and they can work on these items. You said " I can add or remove work any time as I wish or needed, in addition to the refrigerator and freezer." You sent the quote I which I did not sign, and I asked to arrange a date for installation. The following day I emailed back stating please change the quote to freezer, refrigerator and wine cooler. End though it's only a $1500 dollar job I think it's decent but you got angry saying I already accepted your quote you asked me to resubmit on your website which I did.
You emailed again asking who will pay you guys I said I will. You asked for my designers accounting department but I have told you I will make payment. You Never asked for my contractors information. So yes, of course it's mystery to you cause you never asked! Then comes your angry long email stating Untruthful accusations about your client and made up a story.
I spoke to all my colleagues no one had said anything negative. I don't believe they are stupid enough or anyone will be stupid to tell a 3rd party unknown installer about the person who's paying them.
You can reject a job a million ways and yet you choose the worst, showed your low EQ and zero care about your customers or potential customers. Your inability to resolve a simple issue let's everyone question your capability in installation and customer service.Sep 12, 2023Previous reviewWorst 3rd party installer I experienced on a 6 million dollar house project, because we decrease the amount of work they expected. Dathan Amrine came at us with baseless and insulting comments.
Extremely disrespectful and unprofessional towards your potential customer or anybody.
Responding to your latest comment, you have Zero knowledge of the structure and my relationship with the owner. You asked for who will be responsible for payment, I said I will be! You can request payment prior or ask for reference which you did none of that. Please find one contractor or suppliers that we missed a payment in a 6 million dollar project or find a single complaint from anyone.
The fact that your inability to understand a complex project and laziness to ask shows zero professionalism.
When I told you I will be respond for payment you simply ignored, I could pay you with cash, credit card, check, or what ever the source of funds you like prior to start of the job or immediately after but did you even ask?
Going back to the project, the first order was given to you by airport appliance which was false after you spoke to me for the first time. It was frig, freezer and microwave. I asked you why including microwave but not the other appliances? You said you could, but I specifically said all I need is the frig. You said you can add what ever the appliance we want or subtract prior to the job. The call ended and you quoted almost $4000 for installation. You sent me a contract which I DID NOT sign, I told you I approve the price and schedule but needs to take all all other appliances just include the frig, freezer and a wine cooler totaling to $1500. You then got angry and asked me to resubmit a job order which I did. You asked me for who will payment I said I will.
I guess something must gotten to you and start ranting on your customer and this is crazy ! At the end of the day you can reject service all you want it's your business I care less. And one polite email stating your too busy or uncomfortable conducting installation will end of our conversation. But when you make falsified accusations, make up things, I will fight back!
FYI a 5.5 million dollar house in Saratoga with 1 million dollar budget and complete whole house renovation: 5 bathrooms and kitchen, backyard and driveway rebuild with tennis court, bbq, 3000 squadron expansion in patio all under 5 months, I call that a success! It's only possible to stay on time and under budget when designer, GC, project manger, owner and 3rd part contractors worked closely together. Glad you screened yourself out. - Dan G.Watsonville, CA1992236Oct 17, 2023
Aaron and the guys at Pro Appliance came to remove my Sub Zero so we could have flooring installed. They also came back to put it back in. They professionally reinstalled it, replaced the supply line and made sure everything was level. They also noticed that the flooring guys didn't reinstall the dishwasher correctly so I asked them to fix that. It was never going to work the way it was. It was a nice catch on their part and they were willing to stay longer to get it installed correctly. Nice job guys!
Also their scheduler, dispatch and tech tracking is all top notch. Everyone I dealt was professional and courteous. They even squeezed us in on short notice.Helpful 3Thanks 2Love this 1Oh no 0 - Miss M.Morgan Hill, CA2913520Apr 14, 2023
We used these folks when we purchased our home and found them to be quite professional and helpful. Being first time homeowners we were in that fun spot of needing all the things and having none of the money. Paired with a unrealistic HGTV expectation Pro Appliance came in and set realistic expectations while being kind to our novice home owner status.
When all was said and done the team got everything including the fridge that is 100% not the correct size for the space it is in. We appreciated the willingness to help us be creative, not bankrupt us, and the professionalism to say "that requires a permit/added cost/or is not allowed"
Even the process of scheduling, payment, and all the pieces of doing business were efficient, smooth, and affordable.Helpful 2Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 0 - Karen W.Campbell, CA23Sep 12, 2023

Karen,
Our quotes always include the cost for a Pre-Install Site Assessment. Since this is a service that we have never offered for free, are you sure that you are reviewing the correct company?
Our quotes are itemized, and the scope of work is clearly detailed. We also are open to the possibility of meeting or beating any licensed, bonded, insured competitors’ written pricing.
We do not believe that we have ever spoken or communicated before, but if you are an actual customer, please feel free to contact us directly.

They are very professional. A very straight forward service where you can get quotes by submitting a form on their website for our dishwasher installation.
Someone gets back to you pretty quickly.
The technicians who came for repair were very too the point and got the work done in no time. They did a very neat work and clear about the increase in price due to installation of custom panel.
They tested whether everything was working correctly and resolved the issue related to air gap before leaving.
Will definitely go to them if we need something fixed.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0
