Came for lunch. We loved their foods which were amazing with lots of flavour, very impressive for a Japanese restaurant.
      The service was above average.
When we arrived at 1:40, but we had to wait only 10 minutes while they got our table ready. There was a waiting and we didn't have a reservation but they let us sit down quick.

Second time here and highly recommend!!! The katsu is absolutely delicious and I love how you can get free refills of rice, miso soup and cabbage. The miso soup is especially good, so flavorful and very tasty compared to other miso soups I've had. Last time I got just the pork katsu but this time we decided to try the assorted katsu...definitely a good portion for 2 people to share if you wanted to!

Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of it and just dug in immediately

      Ambiance:

Came on a Saturday morning and had to wait ~20 min before getting seated. The interior is super clean and cute, and the waiters/waitresses are diligent and friendly. They came by to fill our waters, salads, and rice almost every 15 min. Great place to try as tourists, highly recommend. All plates come with rice, salad, and a miso soup. Rice and salad are refillable!

      Food:

We got the Tokujyo Rosu Katsu and the Katsu Nabe with Hire. The Rosu Katsu was juicy and fatty, we weren't a fan of the katsu sauce so we ended up eating the katsu on its own. The horse radish that came on the side nicely complimented the meat as well.

There were two choices for the Katsu Nabe: Rosu and Hire. Rosu is pretty fatty while Hire is leaner and lighter. It came in a soupy egg sauce which was super tasty and there was a variety of flavors with the egg and green onion mixed in as well. Definetly eat the Katsu with the rice or the saltiness of the sauce will be too strong.

      Tips:
      - Signup on the Yelp waitlist before arriving at the restaurant to reduce wait times
      - Go for a leaner cut of meat, the frying already adds a good amount of oil so the Rosu is even more fatty. Don't be surprised if you're only able to eat half the portion if you order a Rosu cut
      - The Katsu of the Katsu Nabe will get soggy if you leave it in the sauce too long, so I would recommend asking for an extra plate to set the Katsu aside for dipping. We also found that dipping the Rosu into the sauce is good as well!

Food - same menu as their other locations

Service - Staff is unexperienced compared to the other locations. Other locations will never sit parties that aren't fully present especially when there's a wait list. Meanwhile the staff here sit tables down and the parties that aren't fully present. Was watching a party take over 20 minutes to fully arrive, this really messed up the waitlist.

Ambiance - great decor. But for a new building ventilation feels poor as it's quite stuffy on a rainy and wet day. Humidity feels very high in the restaurant. They need to do something to lower the humidity in the restaurant.
