Of the many Korean restaurants in this one block of Robson, this is my go-to place. Wonderful Dolsot Bibimbap, with the bowl hot enough to get a real sear on the rice.
We also really like their dumplings, and they have excellent kimchi.
Nice interior, good soundtrack, and friendly service.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jeremy C.San Jose, CA018Jul 14, 2024
Beef Galbi AAA was excellent... soups were also amazing! Mandu were very fresh but a little bland, but great with mandu dipping sauce. Banchans were yummy. Overall, pricey but well worth it-- excellent quality foods cooked with great precision (not overcooked or overseasoned).
Will be back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 14, 2024
Took a little while to be greeted (they were super busy) but as soon as we were, we were shown to a table.
The menu has a good amount to choose from, my wife and I enjoy Korean food but are certainly not experts.
We started out with the pot stickers (so good) and the potato pancake (ok, was pretty greasy) and the royal rice cakes which were fantastic.
We also got the bulgigi bimbap and the kimchi fried rice, both of which were delicious. Our only complaint of the whole evening is that everything was basically served at once in the space of five minutes. So learn from us and order as you want your courses! Food overall was good and service was polite and functional.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 20, 2024
I came here by a friends recommendation and it definitely met my expectations! We came here around 12pm on a Monday and had to wait about 30 minutes. We got the bulgogi bibimbap and small bossam, and both were really delicious. The bibimbap was in a hot stone pot and came out really warmed and sizzling, and the sauce gave it lots of flavor. The bossam was tender, and I loved the seasoning and sauce that comes with it. It was a good amount of food for the two of us and prices are reasonable too. I definitely would want to come back to try their lunch specials.

My family (2 adults, 1 senior) ordered the lunch set and were amazed at the food taste and presentation. Every time a new dish would be brought out, the servers made sure to explain what it was. There was such a big variety that you never get bored of the taste. Sweet, savory, spicy, cold, warm, and comforting - All found amongst the different items. The decor of the restaurant was also very beautiful. There were both traditional table/chair seats, as well as floor seats that were set up in a raised platform area in the middle of the room. A very thoughtful design, because you can still sit on the floor and not have to worry about dust being kicked up while people walked past.

Service was fast, servers were friendly and helpful, and food was great. We were all stuffed from the set, didn't have to order anything else. Parking is hard in this area, street parking mostly, but that's not the restaurant's fault. Factor in a couple extra minutes for parking and you'll have a great meal.

The food is always good so it is a great place if you want some nice korean food. The service is okay, and they add the tip at the end. It is always busy but luckily, as a party of 3, we didn't have to wait long. This restaurant has a cozy and modern aesthetic.
We ordered the set menu. There was a lot of food, but it was not the Sura I remembered. The portions have decreased for sure, so I was a bit disappointed. Nonetheless, the food is good, and for 25$, the lunch set menu is good value. We also had Galbi Jjim. There was a lot!
I'd probably come back for the set menu again. It is a decent spot if you want some good korean food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 7, 20242 check-ins

Celebrating the end of MBA term at this restaurant. A bit pricey but decent Korean food, if lacking a bit of flavour punch. This was my second k-bbq here. I think the flavour is somewhat different compared to ones I've tried in Korea but that seems common here in Vancouver (particularly for Asian foods). Overall 7/10, the dishes are good for sure, but somehow I enjoyed the restaurant I went to at Lougheed more. Ambiance and service were adequate.
My favourites include:
Beef Soondubu Jigae ($21)
Bulgogi ($42)
Other dishes we got include:
Galbi Tang ($25)
Galbi ($55)
Spicy Galbi Jim ($65)
Japchae ($25)
Kimchi Pancake ($17)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 16, 2024
Read and saw the Weekday Lunch Special for $25pp on YT and website. Rushed to get there at 3:10pm on a Thursday as their sign and website says they close at 4pm. Guess what, the kitchen or lazy servers stop at 3:10pm and refused to seat us. Said the kitchen was closed. Well, no or one star for this place. Not recommended as people who work here are lazy. Note - We weren't the only couple turned away at 3:10pm as we both told them their door and website said 4pm close.

This was probably my 5th time eating at Sura. I do love their Set Lunch deal. I think it's a great price for a good variety of quality food but it's a minimum of 2 people and my family didn't want to partake because it is quite a bit of food.
On this trip, we ordered bulgogi bibimbap, kimchi pancakes, steamed dumplings, yukgae jang soup and denjang jiggae soup.
The kimchi was fresh but spicy as were the soups but we like it like that. Just a bit of spice to warm the tongue but not too spicy that it blows your head off.
The kimchi pancake is always my favorite dish here. The soups were good but as it comes out in a stone bowl, it is always temperature hot. I have had the kalbi tang soup here and that is also delicious as well.
If you are looking for clean, quality, non-greasy or overly sweet solid Korean food, you have come to the right place. (I'm Korean-American and have traveled to Korea many times so I do think I've had more than my share of Korean food. My Mom who immigrated to the U.S. in the early 70's also enjoys the food here and she is a great cook and not easily satisfied by most Korean restaurants.)
My only small complaint would be that the dishes do not arrive in a proper "order". So our appetizers of dumplings and pancakes came out after 3 out of 4 of the main entrees were served.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
