Steve Plesha is in his first season as an assistant coach for the St. Olaf baseball program in 2024-25.
Before coming to St. Olaf, Plesha spent the previous six seasons as the pitching coach and head junior varsity coach at Duluth East High School. During his time at Duluth East, over 25 players from the program earned spots on college rosters. He also was the head coach of Duluth's American Legion team from 2018-24, winning two Northeast Sub-State Championships in 2019, 2023, and 2024. Plesha also coached at the MN American Legion All-Star Series twice.
Plesha is a 2015 graduate of the University of Minnesota Duluth with a degree in integrated elementary and special education and is pursuing a master's degree in special education with a focus on emotional/behavioral disorders. He spent eight years working as an emotional/behavior disorders special education teacher in Duluth and currently works as a behavior interventionist at Dodge Middle School in Farmington.
Plesha lives in Farmington with his wife, Jamie, and children, Violet and Louie, and they are expecting a third child.
