BetterBriefs goes to Aotearoa! Last week we brought our in-person training on brief writing and assessing creative ideas to New Zealand for the first time. We know that when brands and agencies collaborate closer on briefs and invest more time to ensure both sides fully understand what is being briefed, it will deliver more impactful campaigns. Thank you so much MBM, Stuff, MediaWorks NZ for inviting us, giving this crucial part of marketing the attention it deserves, and helping to drive meaningful progress in the industry. #betterbriefs #briefbetter #marketingbriefs #marketingtraining #NZmarketing

Embracing holistic transformation boosts innovation success in organisations by 12.5 times. Integrating technology and marketing is crucial for business innovation and customer experience. Our Chief Digital Officer, Emily Isle, was honoured to join a CX panel with wonderful panellists representing public and private sector challenges: Alex Smart and Krish Goundar, chaired by Kate Romanova, to discuss regulatory priorities and consent management strategies. #CIOSummit #IDC #Brightstar #Transformation #MBM

The New Zealand Olympic team have made history with their most successful games ever. To celebrate their success, we worked with Special New Zealand and executed a campaign for High Performance Sport New Zealand. From concept to live in less than 24 hours, the campaign is currently live across Aotearoa on billboards, news site takeovers and social media.

We’ve been privileged to partner with Motion Sickness on the acclaimed “Rep Your Suburb” campaign for Whānau Ora. This initiative has won numerous awards including 5 Axis golds, including the Grand Prix and idea of the year as well as Best and NZ Effie awards, with more to be announced. Whilst awards are an amazing recognition of the mahi put in, we’re most proud of its ability to connect with Māori and Pasifika communities to combat the drop in census numbers.

We’re so proud of Tylah Palalagi, who recently participated in an inspiring panel discussion by Commercial Communications Council in partnership with the The University of Auckland’s Toroa programme. This career development initiative is dedicated to supporting first-year Māori & Pacific Business students, and Tylah was thrilled to share her insights and experiences. Tylah’s passion for helping others and her dedication to personal growth truly shone through. We couldn’t be more proud of her contributions to such a meaningful cause 👏

The comms council, media committee team hosted it's first Media Spotlight event on Wednesday. I had the pleasure of moderating a panel to discuss "creativity in media in 2024 and beyond". We discussed the broader role media agencies have to play in creativity, given the acceleration of data & technology, and shifts in media consumption. Unsurprising we concluded collaboration is king, data and technology is not the idea but the facilitator of ideas or executions, and whilst we still believe in the BIG idea we need to make room for how this comes to life across the media ecosystem. We also had a great discussion about being brave and tasking risks however there is still no silver bullet for guaranteed success. In the mean time the tried and tested formula for reducing risk is collaboration, clarity on what success looks like and building measurement frameworks. Our brilliant panel members left to right Annemarie Browne, Emily Scovell, Gina McKinnon, Tony Bradbourne. That was a lot of fun, see you back next year Media Committee shout outs Rufus Chuter, Nigel Douglas, Simon Bird, Simon Lendrum. Not bad for a first event. Lets do it again. MBM

This week, our Chief Digital Officer Emily Isle, joined an esteemed panel at the IAB event to discuss the critical topic of first-party data and digital privacy. It was an enlightening session with industry leaders from Google, XPON, New Zealand Media & Entertainment (NZME), Les Mills International, and Spark New Zealand. The discussion delved into the challenges and opportunities in an increasingly privacy-conscious landscape. Key takeaways included strategies for balancing audience targeting at scale while respecting user privacy, and envisioning a future where effective digital advertising and user privacy coexist harmoniously. A big thank you to the IAB and all the participants for such a valuable and thought-provoking conversation! 🌟
