LIVERMORE, CA — A 31-year-old man was arrested in Livermore on suspicion of possessing an assault weapon, an unregistered ghost gun, and narcotics.

Last Tuesday just after 5 p.m., Livermore police stopped a Kia Sportage for a code violation on Las Positas Road near First Street, according to the department. Police said the driver’s registration was suspended because he did not have insurance. Police also said that the driver, Bradley Grassechi, had an active Gun Violence Restraining Order, which prohibits him from possessing firearms and other weapons. Police searched Grassechi’s vehicle and found an unregistered loaded pistol.

Police obtained a search warrant for Grassechi’s home, where they said they found an unserialized short-barreled rifle and ammunition.
