Agua Caliente Casino Resorts donate 20 'Turkey-To-Go' Meals

Angel View residents receive a special dinner delivery on Thanksgiving

Rancho Mirage and Palm Springs, Calif. (November 28, 2018) – Angel View residents were treated to an extra special Thanksgiving dinner this year through the donation of 20 “Turkey-to-Go” meals from Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in Rancho Mirage and Spa Resort Casino in downtown Palm Springs.

For the past 65 years, Angel View has helped children and adults with disabilities reach their maximum potential. It was to each of Angel Views 19 residential care homes that Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa and Spa Resort Casino delivered Thanksgiving dinner.

The complete ready-to-serve Thanksgiving meals included a premium roasted sage tom turkey served with the resort’s famous chestnut sage stuffing. Sides included butternut squash bisque, baby spinach salad, whipped potatoes, turkey giblet gravy, roasted garnet yams with honey butter, steamed green beans and herbs, house-made orange cinnamon cranberry relish, assorted rolls and, for dessert, a traditional pumpkin pie and carrot cake.

"Everyone agreed that this was one of the best Thanksgiving meals ever," Angel View executive director Patti Park says. "It was difficult for our residents to decide which part of the dinner was their favorite.”

"Peter and Jason loved the salad, Maurice enjoyed the stuffing and turkey, Mitchell had to save room for carrot cake and Hugo summed it up—his favorite: ‘everything!’ The entire Agua Caliente team,” Park says, “from the chefs at both casinos, their staff, the delivery drivers and everyone who put this together should be proud of making it a memorable Thanksgiving for all of us at Angel View."

“It is an honor to have had the opportunity to serve the residents of Angel View on Thanksgiving,” Agua Caliente Casino Resort Vice President and Assistant General Manager Bob Maloney says. “Giving back to the community is of prime importance to us, and we do so throughout the year with our ‘Agua Cares’ program, but this time of year makes it extra special.”

An initiative of the Agua Caliente Casino Resorts, “Agua Cares” provides an opportunity for team members at Spa Resort Casino and Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa to support those in need in the Coachella Valley. The delivery to Angel View’s 19 residential facilities on Thanksgiving Day marks the first time the resorts have provided complete ready-to-eat meals in the community.

“We are grateful to have an amazing team who worked tirelessly to prepare the thousands of Thanksgiving meals served at our properties on Thanksgiving, including the 20 very special meals we delivered to Angel View residents,” Maloney says. “We value our role as members of the community here in the Coachella Valley and Greater Palm Springs area, and we appreciate the good work of Angel View.”
