American Cancer Society's Climb To Conquer Cancer May 18 at The Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage

PALM DESERT (Calif.) — “Get Your Hike On” at American Cancer Society’s Second Annual Climb to Conquer Cancer May 18 at The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage.

“This will be a fun family hike,” said Samantha Tweddell, Community Development Manager for the American Cancer Society in Palm Desert. “There will be light yoga and stretching before and after the hike, lawn games in the garden area of the Ritz, continental breakfast following the moderate trek and a focus on all local ACS programs and services.”

The hike will follow the 2.1- mile Chuckwalla Trail loop, which is a lightly trafficked loop rated as moderate for the whole family. Hikers and walkers of all skill levels are invited. Children ages 5 and under are free.

Registration opens at 7 am with the hike beginning promptly at 8 a.m. and the event ending at 10.a.m.

Cost is $45 per person and participants are asked to register online at www.main.acsevents.org/climbcoachellavalley or www.active.com (search Climb to Conquer Cancer). Your registration includes a t-shirt, complimentary continental breakfast and all activities. A no-host bar and entertainment will be set up on the main lawn overlooking the Coachella Valley after the hike.
