Diane Busch, president of CDAR for 2018, recently presented a positive update on the realty organization’s accomplishments this past year.

“We will be adding 2,070 square feet to our existing structure, adding a Board of Directors/Meeting room, renovating all the offices and improving our auditorium to a state-of-the art facility for all our members,” she said. The new headquarters building is expected to be completed in 12 months. Besides a new training room, there will be entrances from two parking lots to accommodate CDAR’s growing membership. Since 2016, the membership of Realtors has increased 5 percent to 2,847. The number does not include affiliate members, making CDAR the largest trade organization in the Coachella Valley at approximately 3,700.

Additionally, CDAR and the Palm Springs Regional Association of REALTORS® are in the process of forming a single Multiple Listing Service for the Coachella Valley to better serve all members throughout the Coachella Valley and to be implemented mid-2019, Busch said. The MLS is the industry standard in tracking home sales for buyers and sellers, including median and average sales prices broken down by cities in the Coachella Valley.

In a related development, CDAR and PSRAR are in talks to form a single realty board. The CDAR and PSRAR membership will vote on the proposed merger. No timetable has been set for a vote.

The California Desert Association of REALTORS ®, the Trusted Source for Real Estate in the Desert Communities, represents more than 3,700 real estate professionals from Palm Springs to Blythe.
