Sheriff Chad Bianco Presents California Desert Association

of REALTORS® With Exciting Law Enforcement Updates

PALM DESERT (Calif.) – Newly elected Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco presented a highly informative, wide ranging talk about exciting changes to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to about 100 REALTORS® and real estate professionals of the California Desert Association of REALTORS®.

“We were honored to have Sheriff Bianco speak to our membership about the important changes to law enforcement to keep our entire community safe,” said Scott Newton, president of the California Desert Association of REALTORS®.

Bianco, who was elected Sheriff, Coroner, and Public Administrator of Riverside County in the November 6, 2018 general election, spoke at CDAR’s General Membership meeting at The Lakes Country Club.

Bianco, a 25-year veteran of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, commands California’s second largest sheriff’s department, one of the largest and most progressive law enforcement agencies in the nation, supervising more than 3,600 personnel. He is the 14th Riverside County Sheriff.

Some key highlights of Bianco’s presentation

· “We are involved in the biggest hiring campaign in the history of the department.” Goal is 650 by June.

· Will open the Sheriff’s Department Aviation Hanger at the Thermal Airport.

· The $450 million, 1,626-bed John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio is anticipated to open in August.

· Changing to 12-hour shifts from 10-hour shifts to maximize coverage throughout Riverside County.

· Elevated and promoted new administrative team with veteran officers who have 218 years of collective law enforcement experience.

Bianco entered the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department on December 31, 1993. He began his career in Corrections at the Robert Presley Detention Center. He spent time working patrol and narcotics duty in the City of Lake Elsinore. He also held supervisory and management positions at the Jurupa Valley Station, Moreno Valley Police Department, the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility, and most recently the Hemet Station. Additionally, he served administrative assignments in Internal Affairs, and Corrections Administration and Planning. As the fourteenth Sheriff of Riverside County, Sheriff Bianco will also serve as Sheriff-Coroner and Public Administrator.
