SAN DIEGO, CA — Several San Diego area schools were closed again Thursday after a winter storm brought more snow to the county's mountains.

The schools were closed due to inclement weather and icy road conditions, according to the San Diego County Office of Education.

"The safety of students and school staff is of the utmost importance to San Diego County school districts," the County Office of Education said in a statement.

The schools in the following districts were closed and had a snow day on Wednesday:

  • Julian Union Elementary School District
  • Julian Union High School District
  • Mountain Empire Unified School District
  • Spencer Valley School District
  • Warner Unified School District

Schools were expected to resume with late start schedules on Friday.
