SAN DIEGO, CA — Following two snow day closures, schools in San Diego County's mountain areas will reopen but start late Friday.

To ensure safe travel for buses, students and staff, the start of the school day will be delayed and bus stops will run 90 minutes later than the regular time for schools in the county's mountain areas, according to the San Diego County Office of Education.

"The safety of students and school staff is of the utmost importance to San Diego County school districts," the County Office of Education said in a statement.

The schools in the following districts will start late Friday:

  • 9 a.m. Spencer Valley School District
  • 9:10 a.m. Julian Union High School District
  • 9:20 a.m. Julian Union Elementary School District
  • 9:30 a.m. Warner Unified School District
