Canton Library Workshop Focuses on Abilities, Not Disabilities

Facing Blindness, She Can Do It and So Can You: an Inspirational Workshop called "Having Faith in Yourself," Offered at Canton Library

Facing Blindness, She Can Do It and So Can You: an Inspirational Workshop at Canton Library

On Saturday, November 11, at 2:00 p.m., Amla Mehta presents her talk, “Having Faith in Yourself,” at Canton Public Library. Since 1990 she has coped with Gyrate Atrophy, a rare eye disorder which causes progressive peripheral vision loss. In this inspirational workshop, Amla will share her story of facing blindness and will teach techniques to remain positive and authentic while facing life’s challenges.

Using Amla’s method, one may learn to face the world without letting a disability define and limit one’s identity. The disability becomes only a small part of oneself. She invites all to gather, play and engage. Questions are encouraged at the end of the talk.
