ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Nicolle Grasse, a member of the Arlington Heights Village Board since 2021, has stepped into a new role as the state representative for the 53rd District. She fills the recently vacated seat of Mark Walker, who became a state senator for the 27th District following Ann Gillespie's appointment as acting director of the Department of Insurance by JB Pritzker in April.

"It is an honor to fill Senator Walker's shoes in creating smart, compassionate policies for our neighbors near and far," Grasse said. "This is an opportunity of a lifetime, and I pledge to push for equity and inclusion in our state's policymaking so we can build a brighter future for the hardworking families and individuals that call this state home."

The 53rd District comprises Arlington Heights, Rolling Meadows and Mount Prospect.
