PALATINE, IL — Fat Tuesday and Ash Wednesday are right around the corner, and Lent will officially begin — which means it's almost time for fish fry Fridays in Palatine and Cook County. Plenty of local spots are frying up fish for those looking to abstain from meat on Fridays beginning the end of February (see below), or just looking to enjoy a good meal.

If you enjoy a good fish fry, you've come to the right place. We're listing some fan-favorite fish fry spots in and around Palatine.

  • Knights of Columbus Fish Frys: St. Thomas of Villanova Rowley Center, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine; 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 6 (proceeds benefiting Aid for Women), March 13 (proceeds benefiting Little Sisters of the Poor/ St, Joe's Home), March 20 (St. Thomas of Villanova School), March 27 (St. Theresa School), April 3 (Combined Parish Respect Life Team); cash or credit — $10 per person; $5 for guests ages 5-12, $28 for family of four or more; free for guests ages 1-4; dinner includes fried cod, fried shrimp (additional charge), pizza, salad, coleslaw, beverages and desserts.
