Family Friendly Theatre Presents "The Magic Circus" Next Week

Palatine Park District's Family Friendly Theatre program presents a new live theatre show for the whole family on March 25 and March 26.

Will an evil villain shut down the circus? Find out when Palatine Park District’s Family Friendly Theatre presents “The Magic Circus” by Eileen Mitchell, on Monday, March 25 and March 26. Performances are at 10:30am each day at Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center, 150 E. Wood St., in Palatine. Ticket prices are $6.00 for regular admission and $5.00 for groups of 10 or more. To purchase tickets, visit cuttinghall.org or call 847.202.5222. Additional ticketing fees may apply.

When an evil villain threatens to shut down the circus, the performers realize it might take more than magic to save the show and they learn a little bit of help can get big results. Will Mystini the Magician find the rabbit in his hat? Will Gina the Ballerina be reunited with her trick pony? Will the circus open on time? Everyone’s help is needed, including the audience members who are encouraged to wear costumes. Ballerinas, clowns, magicians, animals, and circus performers of all kinds are welcome. Playwright Eileen Mitchell shared, “I think live theater is magical and I want to share the magic, particularly with young audiences who might be inspired to pursue interests in the arts like singing, dancing or acting. It's a great outlet for creativity and imagination, whether you're performing onstage or enjoying the show as an audience member. It's no coincidence my show is called The Magic Circus!”

“These events feature the talents of local actors and playwrights on our home stage," said Cultural Arts Coordinator Ashley Schiavone. "This connection to the community makes the dedication of those involved even stronger. It is great when the kids show up in costume, heartwarming to hear them laugh and sing, and exciting to watch them as they meet characters following the performance.”
