Victim Identified in Landover Hills Homicide; $25K Reward Offered

Police have released the name of a man killed in Landover Hills early Wednesday morning.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for tips that lead to an arrest in the death of Carlos Earl Clayton, 46, of Spirea Court in Landover Hills, authorities say.

Officers found Clayton about 5 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Annapolis Road and Cooper Lane suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are working to identify the motive and suspect(s) in this case.

Clayton’s death was the second homicide of the morning in the county; three people were shot in Capitol Heights, with one fatality. George Nathaniel Sallis, 25, of Jade Court in Capitol Heights was shot to death before 1 a.m. inside a car. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Two other victims were also shot and taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Anyone with information on Clayton’s death is asked to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Tipsters never have to give their name and could be eligible for a reward.
