Easton Festival of Trees Raises $36,500 For Community

A record setting year for the Festival of Trees!!

The Easton Charitable Trust (ECT), a non-profit organization committed to raising funds for charitable groups and individuals in need, is pleased to announce that on Tuesday 3/14/18 at Easton Country Club they will award $36,500 in proceeds from its successful 2017 Festival of Trees fundraiser to 10 local organizations: We Do Care, Easton, is an organization created to help young widows and widowers by connecting them with support services and resources. Evelyn House, Stoughton, is a shelter for families experiencing homelessness. It houses more than 40 families throughout a given year, including 50 children. Matt’s Mission, Easton, is the Matthew J. Walsh Foundation dedicated to supporting Melanoma research in hopes of finding a cure for Melanoma and /or the creation of more effective and less invasive treatments. Betty’s Bees, Easton, is dedicated to bringing awareness, education, and resources surrounding the Alzheimer’s disease. The Well, Bridgewater, offers holistic services, programs, and events that address the needs of the mind, body, and spirit while exploring the interconnectedness of all three. Taunton Area Community Table (TACT), Taunton, is a community-based meal center dedicated to providing delicious, healthy meals to individuals & families in a warm, friendly and safe atmosphere. Natural Resource Trust (NRT), Easton, is focused on preserving Easton's rural character and heritage. The NRT programs and initiatives are pursued through the collaborative efforts of the NRT committee members and community volunteers. Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary, Norton, is a sanctuary dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and care of animals abandoned or mistreated, and promotes public awareness through educational programs and events. H.U.G.S. II, Easton, provides awareness, prevention, education, and early intervention for victims of domestic abuse. Learn To Cope, Taunton, is a support network that offers education, resources, peer support and hope for parents and family members coping with a loved one addicted to opiates or other drugs. All donation monies are being applied towards programs that increase the safety and value of our surrounding communities. In addition, ECT Directors will choose one senior-level student of a local public high school as the recipient of a community service scholarship.
