SHREWSBURY, MA — Welcome to the July 11 edition of Monday Manual, where we highlight important events coming up during the week in Patch communities between Wayland and Worcester.

Here's what to know for the week of July 11:

Shrewsbury

Worcester

The new owner of the former Saint Peter-Marian Central Catholic High School along Grove Street on Monday will ask the Zoning Board of Appeals for permission to build a 168-unit retirement home. The former Catholic school merged in late 2019 with Holy Name Central Catholic Junior-Senior High School.

Wayland

Wayland's favorite topic is back. On Tuesday, the Zoning Board of Appeals will hear a petition from acting Town Manager Stephen Crane to permanently allow school bus parking on a back lot at the town building along Cochituate Road. A special permit to park buses at the building will expire in August.

Marlborough

The Marlborough School Committee will meet in closed session on Tuesday to discuss several items, including the new superintendent's contract. Mary Murphy, Marlborough's former assistant superintendent of teaching and learning, was selected for the job in May with a tentative start date of July 1.

Milford

The Select Board has a big agenda for Monday's meeting, including approving a license for a new downtown restaurant. An eatery called Pin Pan Pollo is seeking to open at 20 Exchange St., according to records. The restaurant would be owned by Cafeteria and Restaurante de Dona Blanquita owner Angel Carchipulla-Cuenca.

Westborough

The Conservation Commission on Tuesday will continue a hearing over the redevelopment of the former BJ's headquarters at 25 and 29 Research Drive. A developer wants to demolish the buildings on the site and build four new ones. The Conservation Commission is considering several issues with the proposal, including the impact on vernal pools and the amount of new impervious surfaces, according to MassDEP.

Sudbury

Sudbury will host a town-wide climate change forum Thursday. The forum was the result of a spring Town Meeting vote where members also voted to declare a climate emergency. The forum will feature many local officials and climate experts, including state Rep. Carmine Gentile, state Sens Mike Barrett and Jamie Eldridge, Fire Chief John Whalen and Winchester sustainability director Ken Pruitt.
