Bruins Scratch-Off Tickets Offer $50K Top Prize

Profits made from ticket sales will provide local aid to 351 cities and towns across the state.

The Boston Bruins have teamed up with the Massachusetts State Lottery to create Bruins-branded tickets that offer a total of $22 million in cash prizes.

In preparation for the first home game of the upcoming season, the 2014 Boston Bruins Instant Tickets is giving away more than 3 million prizes ranging from $2 to $4,000 and ten 10 prizes of $50,000.

The $2 scratch-off tickets went on sale at 7,400 licensed retailers across the state on Tuesday.

Participants with losing tickets get another chance to win in a second-chance drawing where they can win up to $25,000 in cash and custom Bruins memorabilia. There will be five second-chance drawings held on the ice during Bruins home games.

Ticket sales are expected to reach $30.2 million, providing about $5.8 million in unrestricted local aid to Massachusetts towns, according to Massachusetts State Lottery.

Since 2009, these Bruins-branded offerings have earned over $140.9 million in sales and have provided $24 million in aid, the largest amount of aid given to towns across the Commonwealth.
