SHREWSBURY, MA — Welcome to the Aug. 8 edition of Monday Manual, where we highlight important events coming up during the week in Patch communities between Wayland and Worcester.
Here's what to know for the week of Aug. 8:
Shrewsbury
On Sunday, the India Society of Worcester, 152 Main St., will host Meghdhanush, a showcase of young poets, filmmakers and musicians from across the region.

Worcester
The Worcester Redevelopment Authority will meet Monday to vote on signing a purchase and sale agreement for the Denholm Building for $3 million. The historic downtown former department store (now a business condo) is in bad shape, and the WRA may ultimately tear it down.
Wayland, Sudbury
Last week we told you to avoid the Sudbury River due to the application of an aquatic herbicide called to control invasive water chestnut. This week we're advising you get in the river. The Suasco River Stewardship Council on Friday will offer a sunset paddle along the river from Sherman's Bridge in Wayland to Fairhaven Bay in Concord — a way to learn about local history and the environment.

Marlborough
The final concert in Marlborough's outdoor music series at Union Common will take place Friday. The Reminisants will play oldies and rock starting at 7 p.m. with Lost Shoe Brewing on hand with beer.
Milford
The Select Board will meet Monday to discuss a victualler license for a potential new supermarket in Milford. Brazuka Market plans to open at 13 Jefferson St. in downtown Milford offering groceries from Latin America, according to the store's website.
Westborough
The Westborough Select Board will meet Tuesday with plenty on the agenda. One interesting item: a new victualler and liquor license for the Dharani restaurant, which has been closed recently. The 291 Turnpike Road restaurant specializes in South Indian cuisine.
