SHREWSBURY, MA — A section of Shrewsbury will be without water on Wednesday due to a water main project tied to a large construction project at 420 Boston Turnpike (Route 9).

The former industrial buildings on the site — home to a flea market most recently — have been torn down over the last few months. A new concrete building has risen on the site, and will be home to a McGovern Automotive Group repair center and a Floor & Decor store.

According to the town, a contractor will be installing a new water main to the site from Oak Street. Water will be shut off between 6:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday homes along Oak Street south of Route 9 to near the Latura Street intersection.
