NJ Highway Fuel Spill, Sinkhole, Forest Fire: Patch AM Traffic Digest

Good morning, New Jersey Patch readers! Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your travel on Tuesday, June 21, 2022:

Traffic Updates

North Jersey

As of 7:46 a.m., there's an overturned tractor trailer on NJ 17 northbound ramp to southbound I-287 in Mahwah. All lanes closed.

As of 7:41 a.m., there's a crash on the Garden State Parkway northbound south of Exit 137 - NJ 28 in Cranford. All lanes open.

As of 7:25 a.m., there's a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike outer roadway northbound south of Interchange 13A - Newark Liberty International Airport/US 1&9 in Elizabeth. Right shoulder.

As of 6:44 a.m., there's a crash on the George Washington Bridge upper-level eastbound mid-span in Fort Lee. 1 right lane blocked.

As of 6:19 a.m., there's a crash on Pulaski Skyway northbound approaching Broadway in Jersey City. 1 right lane closed.

As of 6:17 a.m., there's debris on the New Jersey Turnpike - Eastern Spur southbound north of interchange 15E - US 1&9 in Newark. 2 right lanes blocked.

As of 5:42 a.m., there's a crash and fuel spill on NJ 17 southbound north of Allendale Avenue in Saddle River. 2 right lanes closed; 5-10 minute delay.

Central Jersey

As of 7:33 a.m., there's a crash on the Garden State Parkway northbound exit at Exit 127 - US 9/I-287/NJ 440 in Woodbridge Township.

As of 5:49 a.m., there's a sinkhole on I-287 local lanes northbound ramp to eastbound Exit 21 - I-78 in Bedminster. All lanes closed and detoured; Exit 21A is closed.

South Jersey

As of 8:08 a.m., there's a crash on NJ 42 northbound south of Exit 10A - NJ 168/Black Horse Pike in Gloucester Township. Left shoulder closed.

As of 6:14 a.m., there's fire department activity and a forest fire on US 206 in both directions between CR 613/Aston Road and CR 536/Chews Road in Hammonton. All lanes closed and detoured.

Transit Updates

The 6:18 a.m. NJ Transit Hudson-Bergen Light Rail departure from 8th Street will originate from Liberty State Park at 6:30 a.m. due to mechanical issues.

All other NJ Transit train lines are running on or close to schedule.

NJ Weather

Expect widespread haze and areas of smoke before 11 a.m., the National Weather Service said. There will be a slight chance of showers after 3 p.m. Otherwise, today will be partly sunny, with a high near 82.
