NJ Turnpike Crash, Road Work Delays: Patch AM Traffic Digest

Good morning, New Jersey Patch readers! Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your travel on Thursday, July 7, 2022:

Traffic Updates

North Jersey

As of 8:07 a.m., there are delays at the Holland Tunnel south tunnel eastbound from New Jersey side in Jersey City to New York side in Manhattan. The travel time to the New York side is 15 minutes from New Jersey Turnpike Exit 14C and 25 minutes from New Jersey 139 at Tonnelle Circle.

As of 6:05 a.m., there are delays on the George Washington Bridge upper-level eastbound New Jersey side in Fort Lee. All lanes open. The travel time is 20 minutes on I-95 from I-80 to the Alexander Hamilton Bridge.

As of 4 a.m., there's roadwork on the Garden State Parkway northbound from North of Exit 172 - Grand Avenue in New York State Line in Montvale. 1 right lane closed.

Central Jersey

As of 8:24 a.m., there's a vehicle fire on US 202 northbound south of I-287 in Bridgewater. 1 right lane closed.

As of 8:12 a.m., there's a crash on the Garden State Parkway northbound south of Exit 63A - NJ 72 East in Stafford.

As of 5:33 a.m., there's a crash and vehicle off the roadway on the New Jersey Turnpike northbound south of Interchange 8 - NJ 33 in East Windsor. All lanes open to traffic.

South Jersey

As of 8:10 a.m., there's a crash on the Garden State Parkway southbound north of New Gretna Toll Plaza in Bass River. 1 left lane closed.

As of 8 a.m., there's a crash on the Garden State Parkway southbound south of Exit 25 - CR 623/Roosevelt Boulevard in Upper Township. 1 right lane blocked.

As of 6:35 a.m., there's a crash with injuries on the Atlantic City Expressway westbound between west of Exit 44 - NJ 168 and east of Western Terminus - NJ 42 in Washington. Left shoulder closed.

As of 6:13 a.m., there's a crash on I-295 northbound Exit 28 - NJ 168/Black Horse Pike in Bellmawr. 1 left lane closed; use caution.

Transit Updates

Rail service into and out of Penn Station New York is subject to up to 30-minute delays due to an Amtrak track repair in one of the Hudson River Tunnels. Otherwise, all NJ Transit train lines are running on or close to schedule.

NJ Weather

Expect showers and thunderstorms with a high near 78. Patchy fog is also likely before 8 a.m.
