LACEY, NJ — You can fight pollution and reuse rainwater collected from your roof by utilizing a rain barrel, and Save Barnegat Bay is teaching you just how to do it.

The organization is hosting a rain barrel workshop for Lacey residents on July 6 at 1 p.m. in the Charles A. Smith Community Center (15 E. Lacey Rd.).

At the workshop, officials with Save Barnegat Bay will educate residents about the importance of rain barrels in the Barnegat Bay watershed.

These barrels help prevent runoff from entering into the Barnegat Bay. Collected water can then be reused to water plants, refill bird baths, wash cars and more.

After the presentation, residents will have the opportunity to make their own barrel to bring home and use in their own yards.
