PATCHOGUE, NY — Without community leaders, Patchogue and Mastic wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize these often unsung community leaders and celebrate their contributions.

This submission comes from Heather Edwards, Allied Foundation, a Patchogue and Mastic reader who nominated Debbie Loesch.

How do you know the community leader?

She runs the nonprofit, Angels Of Long Island. She operates out of two locations, Patchogue, at 350 East Main St. and Mastic, at 14 Herkimer Street. She provides outreach to those in need. Items distributed for free include diapers, wipes, food — and she has set up a farm stand recently with Carrol's Kitchen.
