Calling all Husky lovers!! Meet Niko! This beautiful and super sweet guy was surrendered by his family, sadly this was not his first visit to the shelter. He would frequently get out of his home/yard and roam the neighborhood. The family was not willing to do what was necessary to keep him safe and contained. Now that he is officially up for adoption he is looking for a second chance at love. He is a Husky so he loves going out for walks and to enjoy the sunshine, however with that being said much like a Husky if you are careless and he is given the opportunity to run he will. He can be energetic but with the right amount of exercise he can be a lazy bum the rest of the day. He walks very nicely on leash. When he arrived at the shelter this time he had clearly lost weight and he was limping. As it turns out he was positive for Lyme, Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichia which he got from being bitten by a tick. He has been treated for them and no longer has a limp. Niko is a bit too interested in the cats but did well here at the shelter when meeting the dogs. He is pushy with them so a meet and greet is mandatory. He would do best in a home with with kids over 14 years old. He settles down and relaxes and rolls on his back to give you his belly for a rub down. Niko is four year young, 50 pounds, up to date on vaccinations, neutered, micro-chipped and heart-worm negative.
