BROOKHAVEN TOWN, NY — Suffolk County police officers made arrests ranging from assault to weapon possession over the past two weeks, the department's blotter shows.

Here's a snapshot from April 3 to April 14:

  • A Patchogue man put a garbage pail over a nurse's head and punched her at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip on April 6, police said.

John Dellaporta, 58, attacked the nurse at around 3 a.m., and was charged with second-degree assault, police said. It is not clear if the nurse was injured.

Four days earlier, on April 2, he discharged a shotgun inside his home at around 5:30 a.m., resulting in a charge of prohibited use of a weapon, police said.

He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment and posted bail that was set at $25,000, $50,000 insured bond, or $250,000 partially secured surety bond, online court records show.

A temporary order of protection was also issued.

He is due to be arraigned on the weapon charge on April 22, records show.

  • A Patchogue man was charged with assault after he poked another man with a pry bar, injuring him last month, police said.

Jarett Brownie, 42, poked the man on Chapel Avenue at around 8:30 a.m. on March 21, according to police. The man was then taken to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue for treatment, police said.

Brownie was arrested at the 5th Precinct in Patchogue on April 14, according to police.

He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in First District Court in Central Islip and was released without bail, online court records show.

A temporary order of protection was also issued.

  • A Farmingville woman robbed a store in Setauket on April 2, police said.

Shamiqwa Dixon, 29, went inside a store and struck a clerk and took three bottles of liquor at around 4:40 a.m., according to police.

She was arrested in Farmingville, police said.

She pleaded not guilty at her arraignment and was released without bail, online court records show.

A temporary order of protection was also issued.
