Dirt Bike Rider Dies In Suffolk Crash: Police

He died Thursday night, police say.

PATCHOGUE, NY — A dirt bike rider was killed in an East Patchogue crash Thursday night, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place at 8:08 p.m. on Americus Avenue, south of Brookhaven Avenue. Noe Moran Contreras, 31, of East Patchogue, was operating a dirt bike when he lost control of the bike and struck a pole, police said.

He was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The dirt bike was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
