Flash Flood Warning In Effect For Eastern Suffolk

A flash flood warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for eastern Suffolk County as heavy rain lashes the region Monday morning.

The warning is in effect until 2 p.m. Up to 2 inches of rain has already fallen, the NWS says.

"A flash flood warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring," the NWS says. "If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately."
