What a wild weather week it has been. On Tuesday, the high temperature at John F. Kennedy International Airport hit 95 degrees, shattering the October record high. Three days later and freeze warnings has been issued upstate.

"When comparing highs from the peak of the heat early this week to the late-night and early-morning lows this weekend, some locations will experience a 50-degree-Fahrenheit swing," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski said.

Temperatures will remain well above freezing on Long Island, but it will certainly be frigid come Saturday morning. If you are heading outside at 6 a.m., you may want to grab a winter coat as it's expected to be about 42 degrees.

The mercury will climb to near 60 later Saturday, but that's still a good 8-10 degrees below normal for this time of year, the National Weather Service says. Sunday will be a bit warmer with a high near 72.

A period of heavy rain will then be possible Monday afternoon into early Tuesday as a slow moving cold front approaches, the NWS says.
