Previous public office, appointive or elective:

Currently represent the 7th NYS Assembly District

Why are you seeking this office?:

I’m seeking re-election because there is a lot of work left to do, both in the 7th district and state-wide. We have a crime problem, and I will continue to support our police and fight to repeal cashless bail. We have a number of local infrastructure needs, such as the expansion of sewers and fixing the Oakdale merge.

There has also been a push from Albany to override local zoning and force municipalities to approve accessory apartments on every residential home. This would lead to overdevelopment, and our current infrastructure cannot handle it. I was able to defeat this proposal with a group of my colleagues this year, and I will continue to fight it moving forward.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I can’t speak to my opponent, but I will say I have demonstrated the ability and willingness to stand up for my district on the issue that matter. I’ve been an outspoken representative in support of our police and against unfair mandates and government corruption.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

Protecting along Island’s environment. That’s why I supported funding for clean water infrastructure and open space preservation. I will also be advocating to fully find our universal pre-k program, so that more families can utilize it. As it stands now, it is an unfair lottery system.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I led the fight against Governor Hochul’s radical zoning proposal, stood up for small businesses against unfair mandates, and have continually pushed for accountability within our state government. I’ve also secured funding to complete hyper-local projects for the benefit of the communities I represent, such as upgraded crosswalks to increase pedestrian safety and a new playground.
