PATCHOGUE, NY — Patchogue Village officials on Monday are expected to hear an update of the planned renovation to Shorefront Park — the popular site of the South Bay Music Festival — at their meeting on Monday.

The update will include a plan for a living shoreline and the restoration of nearby Little Creek.

The village had been waiting for approval from the state Department of Environmental Conservation, as well as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Marine and Fisheries Department, so with those now in place, the whole bulkhead will be removed and replaced with "a living shoreline," Village Clerk Lori Devlin said.

The "living shoreline" will have boulders and native plants, which will prevent the tide from going over the bulkhead and trap the water in the greenery.

"It's really going to be spectacular," Devlin said.

Community Development Agency Executive Director Marian Russo is expected to speak along with representatives from VHB Engineering, Surveying and Landscape Architecture, and Quennell Rothschild & Partners Landscape Architects.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at Village Hall.
