$100 million investment will improve its records system, ER, operating rooms, and more staff will be hired, Newsday reported.

EAST PATCHOGUE, NY — NYU Langone has applied to merge its assets with the Long Island Community Hospital, Newsday reported.

The system received permission in February 2022 to become the “active parent” of the hospital and detailed longer-term plans for a full merger, the outlet reported.

One hundred million will be invested to improve the hospital, including its electronic records system, emergency rooms, and operating rooms, and more physicians and staff will be hired, the outlet reported.
