PATCHOGUE, NY — The former Burlington Coat Factory on Main Street in Patchogue Village will become a medical facility.

NYU Langone Health plans to open an ambulatory surgical center with doctors' offices, a representative from the hospital system told Patch.

The 55,000 square foot space was a Burlington Coat Factory for almost two decades until it shuttered last year. Before Burlington, the storefront held other department stores, dating back to the 1960s.

The sale is not yet final, the spokesperson said and no opening date was given.

The deal is part of a larger collaboration between Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue and NYU Langone Health that was announced last year. The independent Patchogue hospital will now operate under NYU Langone as a parent entity, and the new office space will allow for ancillary offices and ambulatory surgeries.
