It is becoming increasingly likely that a nor'easter will impact the region this weekend, forecasters say.

Saturday looks to be the worst of it, but things remain far from certain at this point.

The main focus during the long-term forecast is a coastal storm set to affect the area this weekend. This low tracks along the eastern seaboard Friday and into Saturday. Latest guidance still differ with timing and exact location but, has come into better agreement with the track of the storm being closer to the coast, rather than farther offshore. This will result in a soaking rainfall across the region along with strong easterly winds.
Impacts from this storm are potentially advisory-criteria winds and a chance of at least minor coastal flooding. The degree of both is uncertain as it depends on the eventual track and strength of the storm. Rain amounts will also be affected by the storm track, but as of right now it does not appear to be one of the greater impacts.
