The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts will show the animated classic by Warner Bros, "The Polar Express," starring Tom Hanks. After the screening, the stage will be transformed into a Christmas scene and families will have a chance to take photos with "Santa Claus."

But that's not all.

To cap the day off just perfectly, the village is hosting its 60th annual Christmas parade with the theme, "Patchogue 1962 Diamond Anniversary," along Main Street. Parks and Recreation Department officials are asking that children bring a letter for "Santa" so that his helpers can collect them along the way. A self-addressed and stamped envelope has also been suggested to make it easier for "Santa" to answer.

The parade will begin on West Avenue at 6 p.m. and then travel east along Main Street before ending at Route 112. The parade will be held rain-or-shine.
