Patchogue-Medford Students Receive NYSSMA All-State Honors

District Continues Legacy of Musical Excellence

MEDFORD, NEW YORK (OCTOBER 2023) — Patchogue-Medford High School will once again be well-represented at the NYSSMA All-State Conference. Eight of the District’s talented musicians and vocalists have achieved this standing and will perform from November 30th–December 3rd in Rochester, New York with the All-State Honor Ensembles.

“We continue to be impressed by the musical excellence demonstrated by our scholars,” said Patchogue-Medford School District Superintendent Dr. Donna Jones. “The All-State Honor Ensembles feature the premier student musicians and vocalists throughout the state, and we are proud to have eight students stand among this selective and honored group. Through this experience, they will showcase their skills and have the opportunity to collaborate and learn from the other top performers in the state.”

Students Carlee Grucci, Ethan Moraitakis and Kyla O’Sullivan will participate in the All-State Mixed Chorus, as soprano 1, alto 2 and alto 1, respectively. Carlo Costigliola and Jesse Roth will perform in the All-State Symphony Orchestra playing double bass and snare drum, respectively. Abigail Caravella will serve as an alternate for viola and soprano 1, Gabriella Mannix will be an alternate for soprano 2, and Ryan Seevers will serve as an alternate for cello.

“I am incredibly proud of this group of students we are able to support and send to the All-State Conference,” said Patchogue-Medford School District Director of Art, Music and Cultural Arts Nathan Brinkman. “This is a group of young musicians and vocalists that work extremely hard on their craft. The conference will be such a wonderful music experience in which they will rehearse and perform with the finest talent the state has to offer.”

The Patchogue-Medford School District congratulates these students, as well as their teachers Thomas Carroll, Rose Champion, Estefany Ficurilli, Brian Reich and Scott Zarchy.
