Patchogue Village Determining If Alive After Five Can Return
The summer street festival may not be able to happen in 2021 unless further lifting of regulations happens, Chamber says.
PATCHOGUE, NY — The popular summer event Alive After Five may not return to Patchogue Village this summer, but the Chamber of Commerce and village officials are holding out hope. Canceled in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Main St. event could only return if further state health regulations are lifted.
David Kennedy, Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce president, told Patch the Alive After Five committee will meet in two weeks to see what their options are.
"We are keeping our options open for as long as we can and see if any further lifting of restrictions would allow us to do something beyond 500 people—with testing/proof of vaccine—as we are currently restricted too right now."

The event draws crowds of up to 10,000 people, who enjoy the closed streets, food and drink, and live outdoor music.
Kennedy estimates a decision will be made by early May.
