Record-Breaking Heat Coming For Long Island

Oh, hello summer.

Here comes the heat. Temperatures on Long Island are expected to challenge record highs come Monday.

But first we get a picture perfect Father's Day weekend. Sky skies and highs in the mid-80s both days, the National Weather Service says.

On Monday things may get a bit uncomfortable, though. Temperatures will likely reach the lower-90s on parts of the island. It will be a few degrees cooler along the South Shore. The daily record high at MacArthur Airport for June 18 is 89 degrees, set in 2014.
