ALBANY, NY — State Sen. Dean Murray (R-East Patchogue) has been appointed to serve as the ranking minority member on the senate's social services and libraries committee.

"I am very excited and thankful for Leader [Robert Ortt's] confidence in me to serve as the ranking minority member on three separate committees while also serving as a committee member on three other committees," he said. "As a small business owner for over 25 years, I'm happy to be able to tap into my years of business experience as I serve as the ranking minority member of the senate's Commerce, Economic Development, and Small Business Committee,” said NYS Senator Murray.

Murray, a former journalist and later assemblyman, was also appointed to serve as a member of the senate's budget and review, codes, and higher education committees.
