PATCHOGUE, NY—Swell Taco in Patchogue will close permanently, the restaurant owners announced on Monday. The Mexican eatery at 30 E. Main St. opened five years ago as the second location of the popular Babylon Village spot.

On Swell Taco Patchogue's Facebook page an announcement read: "After a very difficult year-and-a-half, we have decided to make the hard decision to close our doors at Swell Taco Patchogue. Due to the pandemic and staff shortages, we are unable to provide the Swell taco experience and service you all know and love. It has been our pleasure serving the Patchogue community over the last five years."

The Babylon Village Swell Taco will remain open, the announcement explained.
