Thousands Still Without Power In Town of Brookhaven

Following the Nor'easter that hit Long Island on Wednesday night, many residents are still without power Thursday.

TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN, NY - Over 1,800 people within the Town of Brookhaven are still without power as of Thursday afternoon after a coastal storm hit the area on Wednesday night, according to the PSEG map.

The Nor'easter slammed the area on Wednesday night bringing heavy rain, and winds reaching up to 51 mph.

The storm caused flooding and knocked down power lines, resulting in power outages all across Long Island.

As of noon on Thursday, a total of 1,841 customers within Brookhaven Town are still without power, according to the PSEG power outage map.

As of 11 a.m., PSEG announced they have restored 82 percent of customers affected by the storm across Long Island. All are expected to have their power back before midnight Friday.
