8th Grade Boys From Doylestown Win AAU World Basketball Championship

The Total Skills 8th-grade boys basketball team went 8-0 beating teams from Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, Canada, and Virginia.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The 8th-grade boys team from Total Skills Doylestown won the AAU World Championship over the Fourth of July holiday in Orlando, Florida.

Coached by Jeremy Beckett of Doylestown, the team competed in the official AAU World Championship Games held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The tournament hosted teams from nine different countries.

In its 2028 division, 64 teams played in three pool play games to determine seeding on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5. On Saturday, July 6 it turned into a single elimination tournament March Madness style.

Total Skills played eight games in four days and on Sunday in the Final Four knocked off the back-to-back defending champions (Gainesville Elite from Virginia) and took down the Greensboro (N.C.) Warriors in the championship game.

Overall, the Total Skills 8th-grade boys team went 8-0 beating teams from Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, Canada, and Virginia.

The players include: Brycen Foust (North Penn), Ryan Dailey (CB East), Keegan Marascio (CB East), John Vrettos (CB West), Peter Turchi (Plymouth Whitemarsh), Christian Flood (Pennridge), Ryan Flood (Pennridge), Sean Korlesky (CB East) and Matt Korlesky (CB East).
