'All For The Athletes': Cheer Athletes Sparkle With Stunts During Loudoun Fireworks

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — The fireworks weren't the only thing that got to shine at Loudoun County's fireworks events. Cheer coach Jeremie Baylon treated audiences at six Independence Day events to cheer stunts with his cheer athletes with the fireworks in the background.

Baylon, a cheer, stunt and tumble coach at The Stingray Allstars Ashburn and Manassas cheerleading and tumbling training centers, took his cheer stunts to six nights of fireworks events. These included South Riding fireworks on June 28, Brambleton fireworks at Hanson Park on June 29, Hillsboro fireworks on June 30, Loudoun United fireworks on July 3, Leesburg's Ida Lee Park fireworks on July 4 and Ashburn Village fireworks on July 5.

"It's all for the athletes — something to show their family and or friends," Baylon told Patch.

Baylon has been coaching competitive cheer stunting and tumbling since 2006 around the U.S. Before coaching, he was a stunter with University of Central Arkansas Bears Cheer. After college, he did cheer for the AFL Philadelphia Soul Coed Stunt team in 2008, and joined the Baltimore Ravens Coed Stunt team in 2010. Baylon was previously a Loudoun County High School cheer and tumbling coach with the 4A state championship winning team in November 2023 and now coaches at The Stingray Allstars.

"I wanted to show these kids they can still have fun stunting in front of large crowds and in front of fireworks, just like they do on the cheer competition stage," said Baylon.

Baylon has been with The Stingray Allstars in Ashburn and Manassas since the 2019-2020 season. At The Stingray Allstars training centers, Baylon says the cheer program includes rec cheer tumbling and stunt classes for student-athletes as well as all star competitions for student athletes between ages 5 and 18 in various division levels.
