Internship Program

This internship is for students interested in social justice, making campus-wide impact, contributing to Women's Center growth, making new friends, and personal/professional development.

Our application process for 2024-2025 academic year closed on January 23, 2024. The application and job descriptions are listed below.

We are hiring eight undergraduate students for the following positions:

• Facilities and Operations Intern (1)
• Graphic Design and Marketing Intern (1)
• Online and Social Media Intern (1)
• Social Justice Peer Education-Community Liaison Intern (1)
• Social Justice Peer Education-Programming Intern (4)

About the Intern Program

Women's Center interns are an integral part of the Women's Center staff and play a critical role in outreach efforts to the greater campus, as well as community building within the Center. Interns also provide education, information, and resources to other UCSD students. Internships are a great way to impact your campus community, earn money to help pay for living expenses, and gain transferable skills that will aid you in your career.

The learning outcomes that guide the internship program are outlined below. As a result of their internship at the Women’s Center, students will be able to: 

• Communicate ideas clearly and concisely verbally and in writing.
• Utilize effective time management skills to manage multiple projects at once.
• Critically reflect on their values, beliefs, and biases.
• Collaborate with a diverse group of people in order to develop a shared goal.
• Listen with an open mind to others with opposing views.
• Engage peers in thoughtful dialogue around issues of gender and social justice.
• Develop a commitment to social justice beyond their work at the Women’s Center.
• Take action towards creating positive social change.
• Identify and utilize their strengths in professional, social, and academic settings.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the connection between feminist theory and practice.
• Articulate a personal definition of feminism that is inclusive and intersectional.
