Hi, I'm Sabrina Elba.

I'm Idris Elba.

And welcome to our skincare routine.

[upbeat music]

We're really excited,

because we are launching a skincare brand,

that we started, I guess, kind of in lockdown, right?

Sort of in the midst of isolation,

when we realized that wellness was so much more,

about, you know, what you do just to yourself,

but also how you react with everyone around you.

Looking at the partnership you have with yourself,

with skincare, S'able Labs was born, so.

Yes. I'm excited about it.

Sabrina took me on a journey of skincare,

'cause you know typically, I don't really have a routine,

and I'm really not overly conscious,

about what I'm putting on my face or I wasn't.

But now I am, and it's partly to do with this conversation,

we had about your routine and how you look after yourself,

what it makes you feel like on the inside,

how it makes you a better partner for me,

and me, a better partner for you.

When you're feeling good on the outside,

you feel good on the inside, right?

So-- Absolutely.

That's where we started S'able Labs.

S'able is our name backwards, Elba. Elbas.

You thought of that.

I'm kind of clever like that. You know what I'm saying?

But I start with washing my face,

and I'm gonna hog the cleanser first.

This is the S'able Labs Cleanser.

I'm so excited about this one, 'cause it has qasil in it.

And qasil is an ingredient,

I've been watching my mom use for ages.

It comes from Somalia, Somali women swear by it.

It helps with anti-inflammation, hyperpigmentation.

It's super cleansing. It's a natural soap and...

It comes from a tree, right?

It comes from a tree. It comes from a gob tree.

You need, like the tiniest dot, which is so nice.

Rub it together in my hands.

You start, I'm gonna tie my hair back.

Okay.

[Sabrina] I like to wet my face too, I think.

I'd like to get it in there first and then...

[tap water running]

All right.

Dry my face.

You know, going to bed without washing your face,

you know, for me, it's something that I've done all my life.

Just gone to bed, never washed my face until--

How does it feel now to like, wash your face?

Oh, it kind of... [stammers]

It's so weird--

Foreign to me, 'cause I'm like,

I can't go to bed without washing my face.

I've plenty of times don't wash my face,

but it definitely resets me, you know?

Right.

Going to bed with clean skin just resets my mind somehow.

Yeah, no, I like that. That's how it is for me.

It's like a self ritual, right?

I get to like, take a minute at the end of the day,

take 10 minutes, wash my face.

And I love this cleanser, it makes your skin feel so soft,

which is so nice.

Soft, so soft.

So soft. So soft.

[Sabrina] The toner from S'able Labs has black seed in it,

and I'm really excited about that.

Our ingredients are focused at, on melanated skin,

but also include all different skin types,

which we feel we've been excluded.

I mean, I remember when we were looking,

at like, skincare stuff,

we felt there was nothing really out there,

that was marketed for everyone.

Smells nice.

And you use it as an aftershave now, too.

Yeah. Which is nice.

I do, because when I shave, you know, just to...

Especially at night, if I'm going to shave at night,

or I've shaved, you know, at the end of my day.

Yeah.

If I use this, you know, I'm not putting on an aftershave,

like a strong smell.

Yeah.

This is just the toner and it just keeps the pores,

nice and open.

[Sabrina] I have this glow recipe. A AHA/BHA serum.

I use it 'cause I get texture in my skin,

and I like that little just extra boost of something,

that's exfoliating.

This is what I brush my teeth.

I use toothpaste.

[Sabrina laughing]

And I don't use any particular brand.

I just like to brush my teeth,

before I go to bed as everyone else does,

and this is my routine.

I got a little electric toothbrush here. Look at that.

I got you that toothbrush.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Okay. Whoa.

S'able Labs Moisturizer.

And this one's got baobab in, tranexamic acid, niacinamide.

So many of my favorite things.

I think people are waking up to baobab,

as a super antioxidant ingredient.

And I'm just starting to realize benefits.

I was drinking a lot of it in smoothies.

I need a lot more than that. See, you--

Yeah, but you don't need a lot more than that.

Well, this is my thing.

Maybe I don't know that I don't need it,

but I actually, not satisfied with just that little bit.

I need that satisfaction. This has got a nice pump.

So I like that. Squeeze, squeeze, squeeze.

Oh, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze.

See, that's the thing.

Like, if I put that much moisturizer on,

I'm gonna spend decades rubbing it in.

Yeah. So you like that?

I like that, it's weird because I think my routine,

is really based on my mom.

My mom would always tell me,

make sure your skin is moisturized,

and you know, she didn't really say put a little bit,

or a little bit, so I always put a lot,

thinking that the more you put,

the more moisturized you are.

Right, right. No. But that's necessarily true.

I feel like you only need a dot.

Yeah. No.

Yeah, but feel my face.

No, your face is...

I can see it. It's moisturized.

But mine's even more moisturized.

So much so that I can't even rub it in.

[both laughing]

Even more moisturized.

It is.

I go into an eye cream next, so.

I know you have a couple of the things.

This one from SKN by Lori Harvey,

which I'm loving at the moment.

Do you want some eye cream?

No. Thank you.

Are you sure?

Yeah. I'm pretty sure.

I mean, you know, eye cream,

I wouldn't use eye cream typically.

I haven't used it.

I have had it on my skin from,

again, working in the film industry.

You know, they put the eye cream on me,

but it's not one I use myself.

I have to say.

Well, this one, I feel like you would like,

because I like to apply it,

and then rub this like cool metal bit on.

You should try it. It feels great.

Mm. No?

No. Let me try it on you.

Mm.

I'll be honest.

Like, I wouldn't know if it was good or working,

or it made a difference.

I really wouldn't know. But it would feel good.

Really?

And that's something that's important to me.

I think I feel pretty good right now.

You feel good?

Yeah. I feel good.

Yeah. You feel good.

So I'm gonna moisturize my lips.

Get them nice and ready for you.

Okay. I love that.

You know, this, I see you use this a lot, and sometimes--

I know.

Every night.

I actually, I can't fall asleep without it,

'cause I have really dry lips,

you have perfect, soft, supple lips.

No. No, not true.

Sometimes my lips are super dry,

and this is what I would try and dip my finger in it.

But this is very...

It's kind of sticky and...

But it does the trick.

You don't like the sticky...

Mm-hm.

It's not my thing, but-- Sticky is good.

I know. It does a good job.

Sticky means it's all moist.

Look how dry--

My lips are always dry. I don't know how you...

You don't have to do anything. You just look perfect.

Now, I put some moisturizer on.

More moisturizer?

More moisturizer. This is body moisturizer.

Okay.

That I use after my shower.

So, Josie Maran's Whipped Argan Oil.

And this one's in an apricot scent. Smell it.

I think you like it,

'cause every time I come to bed with it, you're like, hmm.

Yeah, it smells good.

My last step would be to steal your fancy lip gloss.

No, I don't mean it to be bad.

That's another reason we wanted to create,

a genderless skincare, right?

So we could share.

And skin is skin.

[both laughing]

Thank you Allure.

For tuning into our skincare routine.

It was great to have you in this part of our lives.

This is me. Goodnight guys.

No, that's mine.

No, this is mine.

Thank you.

Just taking things.

[Idris laughing]

Does it look cute on me?

No? Yes. Looks very cute on you.

Cuter on you then it look cute on me.

[Sabrina laughing]

What if I did this though?

Yeah, I'd be mad.
