  • Now, the Dallas Cowboys cheerleading team has unveiled this year's squad
  • It's made up of 24 returnees, 10 new faces, and two who got axed last year

The Dallas Cowboys cheerleading team has finally unveiled the 36 women who will make up this year's squad.

Earlier this year, a new Netflix series premiered that detailed the rigorous process the aspiring cheerleaders went through to secure their spot on the 2023 team - and lifted the lid on the harrowing struggles the women who did make it faced.

Called America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, the show followed the elite Texas cheerleading team from auditions to training camp to the football field during the 2023 season.

It completely captured the nation, and left millions of viewers wondering who would make the team this year and which, if any, of last year's stars would return.

Now, the lineup is officially here, and the 2024 squad is made up of 24 returnees, 10 newbies - and two women who were brutally cut during the audition process last year.

Charly Barby, from California, became a fan favorite during the show, but she ultimately didn't earn a spot on the 2023 team and was sent home at the end of training camp.

Before she left, she promised her fellow cheerleaders: 'I'll be back with you next year.'

And she kept her promise; one year later, she came back to audition again - and now, she has achieved her dream of making the team.

'Best day of my life. My literal dream come true,' she gushed on Instagram. 'I would not change a thing and honored does not even describe how I feel.

'This organization means the absolute world to me and to be able to call it home now means more than I'll ever be able to say. What a legacy to be a part of. I am so excited.'

Similarly to Charly, Kelly Villares was axed during the first few episodes of the show, leaving viewers heartbroken. And now, she too has joined the 2024 team.

'Someone needs to pinch me. I am so honored to be a part of this team alongside these incredible women,' she said after it was announced.

'My lifelong dream came true today, and this will be a day I will never forget. Thank you to this organization for allowing my dream to come true.'
