Donald Trump was greeted at the Republican National Convention by his family, new running mate and an adoring crowd of GOP delegates who just nominated him as their presidential candidate for a third time in a row.

The former president's eldest son Donald Trump Jr. seemed to have a tear in his eye as his father made his grand entrance into the Convention hall at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Monday evening.

With a bandage on his ear, Trump also appeared emotional as he strutted to meet his family and closest allies in the VIP guest box.

Don Jr. was joined by partner Kimberly Guilfoyle, brother Eric Trump and half sister Tiffany Trump in welcoming their father and the 2024 Republican nominee to the convention site.

Absent from the guest box was former First Lady Melania Trump, who is expected to appear at the GOP Convention later in the week.

Those in the front row of the guest box with Trump included his newly announced running mate Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), who was floated as a name in the veepstakes, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and his wife Kelly and conservative media personality Tucker Carlson.

In the second row behind the former president is Don Jr. and Guilfoyle as well as Tiffany and her husband Michael Boulos and Eric and his wife Lara, who is co-chair of the Republican National Committee.

Singer-songwriter Lee Greenwood sang his iconic patriotic ballad God Bless the U.S.A. as Trump entered the arena. This is the same song the former president plays at the start of his signature rallies.

This includes the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, where Trump survived an assassination attempt by a 20-year-old attacker who opened fire at the event, killing one and critically injuring two others.

Trump's right ear was hit by the bullet.

Eric said on Monday that his father is 'not deterred' by the assassination attempt and 'understands' how differently the attack could have gone on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, Don Jr. got heated when an MSNBC reporter tried to speak with him on the floor of the convention.

When the reporter asked Trump's son about whether his father would 'put children in cages' at the border if elected for another term, Don Jr. called him a 'clown' and told him: 'Get out of here!'

He slammed the 'MSDNC reporter' – referencing the Democratic National Committee (DNC) – and said of him: 'A clown is an understatement.'
