NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown posts cryptic tweet after Celtics teammate is selected by Team USA over him

Jaylen Brown may have thrown some shade at his Celtics teammate Derrick White after he was selected to replace the injured Kawhi Leonard on Team USA

White has reportedly been named to the Paris Olympics-bound men's basketball roster over Brown, who was the Eastern Conference Finals MVP and NBA Finals MVP.

The shooting guard averaged 23.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 51.6 percent throughout the playoffs, and ultimately helped lead the Celtics to a record-breaking 18th championship.

Brown took to Twitter on Wednesday, cryptically posting three emojis with the monocle over the eye.

The Boston teammates were both in the original 41-player pool for Team USA, however they were passed over for Leonard, who was forced to withdraw due to a right knee issue.

The Clippers star was seen limping slightly after practice last week, however he was a full participant in Tuesday's team walk-through.

'Kawhi has been ramping up for the Olympics over the past several weeks and had a few strong practices in Las Vegas. He felt ready to compete,' a statement from the team read.

'However, he respects that USA Basketball and the Clippers determined it's in his best interest to spend the remainder of the summer preparing for the upcoming season rather than participating in the Olympic Games in Paris.'

While many fans thought Brown was the obvious replacement for Leonard, White will provide the team with a much-needed defensive presence, having earned All-Defensive second-team honors twice.

He is now the third member of the Celtics to be selected to Team USA, joining Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday.

The men's basketball tournament begins on July 27 in Paris, where the star-studded American team will seek a fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal.

Team USA will face Serbia, South Sudan and Puerto Rico in the group stage.
